Tooth whitening

To enhance the aesthetic aspect of a smile

Tooth whitening

Over the years, some products that we consume on a daily basis (coffee, tea, red wine, spices, tobacco, etc.) may stain our teeth. Tooth whitening is a safe treatment that will give you a bright smile.

The whitening treatment we recommend at the clinic is done at home. It consists of applying a hydrogen peroxide or carbamide gel of varying concentrations in a customized tray, perfectly adapted to the patient’s mouth.

It is important never to conduct a whitening treatment if there are cavities in the mouth. Peroxide gel is an active agent that may irritate a tooth’s pulp (the nerve), causing complications or pain. Whitening does not work on restorations. Therefore, a thorough dental examination should be conducted before starting treatment for proper planning of the procedure and to harmonize the shade of your smile. Despite its many benefits, tooth whitening is not recommended for children under age 12 or for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
